About EusoffWorks

EusoffWorks is the media services wing of Eusoff Hall. As one of the largest and most established committee in Eusoff Hall, EusoffWorks' pool of media, artistic and technical talents provides semi-professional media services to the residents and committees of the hall. The committee consists of the Core Admin Team, 4 Specialization Wings and 4 Media Support Wings with a total over 100 committed members to bring the best productions to Eusoff Hall residents as well as members of the public. EusoffWorks is arguabily the best media committee amongst all the hall of residents with its high level of production standards as well as management systems.

Although termed as a "technical" committee, EusoffWorks is actually a very "people orientated" committee. This is the reason why EusoffWorks has one of the best operational, financial and adminstrative systems amongst all the committees in Eusoff Hall. Built on a culture of change, learning and excellence, EusoffWorks invests heavily on the development and nurturing of leadership, administrative, media, creativity and technical talents. People are EusoffWorks most important assets and the secret to its success.

Brief History

By Ng Huan Jin

Sadly, no one in hall is really sure when EusoffWorks formed and organized into a committee. From photos and videos many years back, it isn't really hard to picture that the committee has had its ups and downs. And I for one joined EusoffWorks in AY2005/06 (my freshmen year) when EusoffWorks was in one of its slumps. In EusoffWorks, Nothing Works (not to mention the "Apple Core Incident"). In those days, EusoffWorks was only in charge of video coverage and basic video editing. Even so, I was one of the 2 people in the committee of about 20 that actually knew how to edit videos.

In AY2006/07, I took the helm of EusoffWorks and gave EusoffWorks its new face. At the time, the committee had only 20 members and faced a serious lack of manpower as well as equipment shortage. Photography was also introduced into the committee at that time. It was a difficult time but I managed to secure a substiantial budget from the hall to replace the broken equipment as well as to acquire new ones. In order to utilise resources of EusoffWorks effectively, the committee laid the foundation of its own admin, finance and operational system (which was almost non-existant previously). During my term as Head of EusoffWorks, I push EusoffWorks forward as a people orientated committee instead of a technical one, with much emphasis on skills and leadership development. Even with the lack of support from many of the Hall leaders, EusoffWorks managed to overcome its biggest obstacle : crawling outfrom the slumps and standing on its own feet.

In AY2007/08, EusoffWorks started to take off and continuing building on the foundation established in the previous year. Joshua took over as the Head of EusoffWorks and the committee quickly gained significance in the Hall. I helped to improve on the financial and administrative side of the committee while Joshua worked to revamp the operational aspects of the EusoffWorks' responsibilities. The EusoffWorks Standard Operating Procedures was also introduced to formalise work prodecures. EusoffWorks continued to develop as a people-centric organization and produced many good media productions as well as developed many talents in the year.

AY2008/09, the present year, the committee was restructured and many new media services were introduced. Current I am in my Final Year of studies and am currently the Senior Director of EusoffWorks. This year, EusoffWorks released an hour long film, "The Forgotten" and has established itself as a key representative of Eusoff Hall culture.
