Player to watch Matthew Wan (In A Million) was up for the first singles. As he warmed up, he revealed that he was a little anxious about the match. Despite the jitters, Matt was off to an explosive start as powerful flat shots were sent flying to and fro. Both players appeared evenly matched, but Matt lost the first point despite his roaring start.

Our captain showed everyone why he is boss on the court by delivering a complete thrashing over his Raffles Hall counterpart, who struggled against Desmond’s powerful strokes and offered no comeback. First game comfortably won by the captain, who set an excellent example and got the ball rolling for his teammates.

Despite already securing a place in the semi finals, our tennis girls were still thirsting for a win over KE7. With 3 IVP players, KE7 was not a team to be trifled with. To begin with, we wonder why the tennis cap stands at 3 IVP players. Being IVP players, they are probably the best around in NUS and hence if allowed to play all 3 singles matches, they should win by default. Sadly, IHG is increasingly becoming more and more of a which-hall-can-kope-all-the-IVP-players competition. IHG could be re-named Intra-Varsity-Players’ (IVP) Games in the near future if the IVP caps for each sport are not properly monitored.
