[18 Jan 09] Table-Tennis (M) EH vs KR: 2-3

Jian Hong

Going into this match, Jian Hong was a player in form after his stunning comeback against TH in the preliminaries. His dominance of this game right from the get-go was a reflection of that. The man was on fire. After a trouncing in the first set, the opponent set out their stall to defend, probably because playing his normal game would only result in a greater defeat. This worked to some effect, as Jian Hong lost the second set after some poor finishing. He wasted no time in regaining his dominance however, as he raced to a commanding lead in the third set and made no mistake in the fourth to leave his opponent chasing his shadows in futile. One-love to Eusoff!

[18 Jan 09] Table-Tennis (F) EH vs KE7: 2-3

Our IHG old birds notched up yet another convincing victory and added to their impressive C.V of never having lost a game in their IHG career! They did well to tie the score at 1-1, after another neat display of teamwork and technical superiority over their opponents.

[16 Jan 09] Table-Tennis (M) EH vs TH: 3-2

With the score tied at 2-2, it was left with our captain to do the rescue act. It in the wee hours of night but both players showed no signs of weariness. Instead it was remarkable how they managed to maintain their concentration for every point. Ironically, both players are actually doubles partners in IVP, and so both knew each other’s strenths and weaknesses inside out.
