The man of the match, or woman in this case was undoubtedly Wanyi, who put up a fantastic show and was an essential part of the team, splits and all. This is all the more sweet considering that Wanyi and Captain Royston Tan had to fight hard all-week to ensure that Wanyi could deservedly play her role in the semis as KE7 had tried to ban her from the competition. We have seen the video of the alleged violence and really, it is rather embarrassing for a man to complain about something so insignificant as a pat. Have you ever watched ice hockey, or even your local sunday soccer league game? Those are speciments of real men.

The handballs girls took on surprise package of the tournament KEVII in the semi-finals in a match-up whereby our girls were certainly the heavy favorites. It would have been easy for the girls to take winning the match for granted and be distracted by thoughts of an epic final with Temasek. However, Eusoff showed no signs of such complacency and put their heads down to efficiently dispatch their opponents and clinch the game 14-3.

Babe Zaharias, a women’s golfer once said, “Winning has always meant much to me, but winning friends has meant the most.”
Today, these words echoed across the dry and brazen SRC pitch as our boys finished a respectful 3rd after a day clammed in a myriad of emotions. To add, it was a 3rd which was marginalized by difference of tries as compared to rivals Temasek whom we won head-to-head anyway. Including that win, the boys sealed 3 wins, were held to an uncanny draw and were beaten by the eventual winners, Sheares.
