Volleyball
A Brief Introduction to the game of Volleyball
Volleyball is a highly popular team sport in which two teams of six active players (five normal players and one ‘libero’), are separated by a high net. Each team tries to score points against one another by grounding a ball on the other team’s court under organized rules. Teams can contact the ball only three times before the ball crosses the net and consecutive contacts must be made by different players. The ball is usually played with the hands or arms, but players can legally strike or push (short contact) the ball with any part of the body. When William Morgan invented volleyball in 1895, he named it Mintonette. It was only when someone commented that it looked like people were volleying the ball back and forth did the name change to Volleyball instead.

Reporter: Nigel
At first glance, Nigel may not look like your typical varsity soccer player. I almost mistook him for a former classmate of mine who played Volleyball, with their almost alike frame and built. However, defying all stereotypes of a soccer dude, Nigel has been the talk of the town as his name is quietly whispered within the corridors of Eusoff as a soccer dude who is to be watched. He is also “full of crap” and that is quoting the man himself. Which we found to be quite true when we heard his answer when we asked him which sporting icon he’d like to meet: “Usain Bolt. If I can catch him.” Ha ha..
Again, unlike the superstars of EPL or La Liga, Nigel does not believe in WAGs who only know how to spend his moolahs. “I’ll be straightforward, I get easily attracted to girls who play sports, especially if they’re d*mn good at it.” Girls, you’ve heard it from the man himself..
