Tennis
Brief Introduction to the Game of Tennis
The game is played on a rectangular court where players stand on opposite sides of a net and hit a ball over the net and within the boundaries of the court. The player must return the ball after it bounces for a maximum of one time after it has been hit by their opponent. A typical tennis team competing in a tournament consists of 7 players - 2 double players and 3 single players.
5 sets of 6 games will be played in all. The team which wins 3 sets in total wins.
Serving
The server shall stand behind the baseline. If the server misses twice, he loses the point. If the ball hits the net and goes in the correct service box, another serve is granted. If the server steps on the baseline, the serve is deemed a fault.
Points System
Love means zero in tennis. The second point is called 30. The third point is called 45 (now-a-days known as 40) and game is won when the score goes back to love. If the score is 40-40, also known as deuce, one side must win by two points. Advantage-In means if the server wins the next point, he wins the game. Advantage-Out means the receiver has a chance to win the game on the next point.
If the ball goes into the net, or outside the boundaries of the court, the player who hit that ball loses the point. If the ball hits the net during the point and goes into the opponents’ court, the ball is in play.

Wanyi’s off court persona is as exuberant as her persona on it. I remember playing Hockey against her team back in the ol’ days of Junior College. We were playing on the same wing as her and I thought to myself “My goodness, what a feisty woman!”, and feisty ladies are great – they have attitude (who likes bland ladies?)! So guaranteed you will see some attitude in softball, basketball, handball, soccer and touch rugby, and maybe even table tennis.
This lady likes her soccer too. She’s an ardent Man Utd fan and totally in love with Cristiano Ronaldo - apparently she has set her sights on marry him and they’re just waiting to confirm a date…
